Nepal driving licence test: Application window opens after 6 month

Kathmandu, October 26 : The Department of Transport Management has begun accepting applications for driving licence tests after the gap of around six months.

The system was closed on April 29 as the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic began in the country. Although the department had resumed licence tests in September for those who had already applied before April, new applicants were barred from submitting applications.

But, the department started accepting applications from Monday night, informs the department spokesperson Lok Nath Bhusal. The department has allocated a certain quota for accepting applications for each of the transport management offices across the country for each day, according to Bhusal.

As per the new rule, those being successful in submitting applications will get a chance to take the tests a day after or within a few days. Previous to this, they were required to wait for months to take the tests.

The new applicants are required to take tests, both written and practical (trial), as per recently revised new rules. Read about the new rules introduced for the tests in detail here.
